Saisai Zheng outlasts Monica Puig 4-6 6-3 7-6⁵ in the 1^st round in Beijing on Saturday after conquering a huge battle. Zheng will square off with Sloane Stephens in the 2^nd round.

The Puerto Rican won the set after she broke the Chinese in the 6^th (4-2) and in the 10^th (6-4) game. Zheng tried to stage a comeback breaking in the 7^th (4-3) game. However, Monica kept the situation under control before winning the set 6-4.

2^nd set.

Zheng had a head start at the beginning of the set to break Puig in the 1^st game (1-0).
