Stefanos Tsitsipas is a man on a mission!

Currently ranked no.27, the 19-year-old is well on his way to the top20. The Greek had a rather solid win against Damir Dzumhur in Toronto to reach the 2^nd round without dropping a set.

The match

Stefanos won the opening set (6-3) after winning the decisive break in the 4^th game (3-1), and he consolidated his lead by holding his serve at love (4-1) soon after.

In the second set, Stefanos had 4 break points, but he couldn’t convert any of them, and therefore the affair went to the breaker. Tsitsipas managed to get a decisive 3-0 lead in the tiebreak before winning the contest 6-3 7-6 (3).

Next vs. Thiem

Stefanos will face Dominic Thiem in the 2^nd round. The head to head is 3-1 for the Austrian, but Tsitsipas may have an edge this time as he has been playing really good tennis while Dominic is really struggling with his results.
