17-year-old Auger-Aliassime beats Pouille in Toronto

Felix Auger-Aliassime and Denis Shapovalov are the golden boys of the Canadian tennis. While Denis is almost a top20 player, Felix is still finding his way in the top100. At 17 years of age, Auger-Aliassimeis is currently ranked no.133; he had the luxury to get a wildcard for the main draw in Toronto, and he honored that in the best possible way with a sensational straight sets win over the world no.18 Lucas Pouille.

The match

Felix was in complete control in both sets to race to a 4-1 lead in both occasions before winning the match 6-4 6-3 after scoring 64 points vs. Pouille’s 49.

 

Next Vs. Medvedev

Felix will face Daniil Medvedev in the 2nd round. They have never played each other in their career at the pro level.
