Last week had a couple of important tournaments in the WTA circuit in San Jose and Washington. The finalists in San Jose made a good move in the rankings.
Buzarnescu
After winning her maiden title in San Jose, Mihaela enters for the first time in her career in the top20 after going up 3 places. The 30-year-old is currently ranked no.20 with the congratulations of her compatriot and friend Simona Halep.

Sakkari
Maria had a fantastic run in San Jose where she reached the final after defeating Venus Williams on the way. The Greek went up 18 places in the rankings to be the new world no.31 (career high and much more to come).
Collins
Danielle Rose reached the semifinal in San Jose before losing in 3 sets to Sakkari. The American is up 7 places in the rankings to be the new world no.35 (career high).
Vekic
Donna had to endure an extremely tough loss in the final in Washington after she wasn’t able to convert 4 championship points against Svetlana Kuznetsova. Still, after last week, the Croatian has a lot to be happy as she is 7 places up to be ranked no. 37 (career high).
