Fognini beats Del Potro to win the title in Los Cabos

Fabio Fognini wins his 8^th career title in style in Los Cabos after dismissing Juan Martin Del Potro in straight sets (6-4 6-2). After losing the very first set (6-2) in the tournament, the Italian had an amazing run to win 8 consecutive sets before clinching the 3^rd title of his season.

Why Fognini was so happy

After the match, Fabio commented

“It’s something strange because, of course, at the beginning of the week if you told me that we would be talking about titles… I am really happy, happy about this week, about my game. Of course, it means a lot to me.” 

For Fognini this is the 3^rd title of 2018 after he triumphed in Bastad and Sao Paulo.
