Venus Williams outlasts Barbora Strycova 6-3 4-6 7-5 in the 1^st round in Beijing on Sunday after conquering a huge battle. Williams will face off with Belinda Bencic in the 2^nd round.

The set was even with both players refusing to concede anything to the opposition. Eventually, the only discrepancy was one break that Venus conquered in the 6^th game (4-2) before winning the set (6-3).
