Why Zverev is confident to defend his Washington title

Sascha Zverev is ready for a great North American swing!

The world no.3 had a lousy stint on grass after he lost in the opener in Halle and the 3rd round in Wimbledon. However, the German is poised to come back strong in North America where he conquered 2 titles last year in Washington and Montreal.

Sascha is currently in DC where he is seeded no.1, and he seems to be rather confident to win his title again after proper preparation.

Last year, Sascha defeated Anderson in the final 6-4 6-4.

Washington is the perfect preparation. ZVEREV

During a recent interview, Sascha commented

“Washington is perfect preparation for Toronto and Cincinnati,” Zverev said, eyeing the major tuneups ahead of U.S. Open.

I’ve done a good two weeks of training, just general stuff. It was like a mini off-season for me, just a lot of work trying to get ready for the hardcourts.”

After a bye, Sascha will face either Donskoy or Jaziri in the 2nd round.
