The Georgian wins his first career title coming straight from the qualifications after defeating some top clay court specialists such as Philipp Kohlschreiber, Pablo Cuevas, Pablo Carreno-Busta, and Leonardo Mayer in the final.
In the match against Mayer, Basilashvili was great in keeping his composure after he was bagelled in the 2nd set. In the decider, the Georgian was back to business to win the match 6-4 0-6 7-5.
This is also the first time ever that a player from Georgia wins an ATP title!
