Federer withdraws from the Rogers Cup

Bad news for Roger Federer’s fans as the Swiss legend decided not to compete at the upcoming Rogers Cup.

The world no.2 didn’t meet his expectations during the grass court season as he lost in the final in Halle and in the quarters in Wimbledon even if he was playing a good tennis. For this reason, many were expecting Roger to play in Toronto to “recover” some terrain, but eventually he decided not to play.

The statement

“Unfortunately with scheduling being the key to my longevity moving forward, I have regrettably decided to withdraw from Toronto this year.”

Roger is widely expected to play in Cincinnati (13th August) where he has won the title already 7 times.
