Djokovic trashes Roddick 6-2 6-1 to face Hewitt – 2012 Olympics

That was quite a surprise. Ok, we all know that both are in different stages of their remarkable careers and in this moment Djokovic is definately stronger than Roddick, but it was difficult to expect this kind of result.

It is even difficult to talk about the match. Andy didn’t manage to get a single break point to be broken 4 times and always at the first time Nole was asking (4 break points won out of 4).

“He played great. He was just in the zone. The conditions were perfect. He was hitting it well” said Roddick “If he is hitting the ball like that, my chance is to serve really well. I didn’t serve great today. I hit the ball fine, he was just too good from the baseline. He was seeing it like a basketball today.”

“It was the perfect match in every sense,” said Djokovic. “I delivered my best game, I think, so far this year on grass courts. I didn’t expect to serve as many aces, but both of my matches that I’ve played here I’ve served really, really well. So that’s something encouraging for the next challenge.”

Nole will play another veteran: the Australian Lleyton Hewitt that upset Cilic 6-4 7-5.

Head to head is 6-1 for Nole (3-0 on grass). Last time they played was this year in the Fourth round of the Australian Open where Nole won 6-1 6-3 4-6 6-3
