No problems for Rafael Nadal in the Wimbledon opener as the world no.1 dismisses Dudi Sela in straight sets.
This match was a no contest with the Mallorcan breezing in the first 2 sets with completely superior firepower. The only (small) thrill was when Rafa was broken in the 1st game of the 3rd set; however, Nadal won the following 4 games before winning the match 6-3 6-3 6-2. Rafa on 95 points vs. Sela’s 65.
It’s an important victory. NADAL
Nadal was pretty happy with his performance and his overall strategy to comment
“After a while without playing on grass, it’s very important to start with a straight victory. I went to the net a couple of times, later in the third set I served worse, but in general terms, I served well.”
Next vs. Kukushkin
Rafa will face the world no.77 Mikhail Kukushkin in the 2nd round. The head to head is 3-0 for the Spaniard.
