Serena upset for being tested 5 times already in 2018

Serena Williams is doing everything she can to regain her top form after her pregnancy.

Unfortunately, the American had to deal with all sorts of physical problems soon after the pregnancy, and she also had a hard time to lose weight. Now ranked no.183, the American is ready to have a good run in Wimbledon where she was seeded no.25.

About the anti-doping.

During the pre-tournament interview, Serena shares her frustration over being tested already 5 times in 2018 when some of her colleagues have been tested only twice.

The American commented

“How is it I’m getting tested five times? I’m OK with that. Literally verbatim I said: ‘I’m going with that, as long as everyone is being treated equally. That’s all I care about.’

I despise having people in our sport that aren’t being honest. I’m totally OK with testing, and I encourage it. I’m OK for it. What I want to know is everyone is getting tested, that we are really working to keep this sport clean.

Tennis has given me so much. It’s such an amazing sport. I feel like equality, that’s all I’ve been preaching, it’s all about equality. If that’s testing everyone five times, let’s do it. Let’s be a part of it. It’s just about being equal and not centering one person out. Just due to the numbers, it looks like I’m being pushed out. Just test everyone equally.”

… and about s strange occurrence

Serena also complained about the fact that they tried to test her outside the allocated hours to say

“Every day, every player gives a time for testing. My time was actually 12 hours later. For some reason they showed up in the morning, which they are allowed to do. And if I’m not there, then they just leave.

For whatever reason, they didn’t leave. They said I can come back. I was like: ‘I’m totally not in the area because my hour is actually a long time from now. I’m completely so far away’.”

It’s really disappointing, shocking. I was just like: ‘That’s just weird.’ I’m still trying to figure out why and how that happened.”

Serena will face the world no.107 Arantza Cruz in her first round in Wimbledon.
