Haase defeats Kohlschreiber to win again the ATP in Kitzbühel – Youtube

During the Olympic Games. ut there has been also an interesting 250 tournament in Kitzbühel.

The winner was once again Robin Haase (2011 winner). The final has been a bit of a thriller with the Dutchman losing the first set at the tiebreak before the match was suspended for more of one hour because of the heavy rain. When the match resumed Robin was much more inspired to win the next 2 sets and the tournament.

Haase commented

“I didn’t feel too much pressure even if I was the defending champion,” said Haase. “I was a bit nervous in the first match against Oswald. From the quarter-finals on, I started a bit nervously before calming down and winning.

“I’m happy I won here again. I don’t think many players have won here twice. It doesn’t happen too often nowadays. I’m very proud of that.”

“I will fly to London tonight at 9 p.m.,” said Haase. “Against Gasquet, I have to play with confidence and serve well.”

Kohlschreiber said

“The last two days were very intense,” said Kohlschreiber. “It was a great tournament and [I have had] a great season so far.

“It’s a bit tough right now, but I’m still happy since I reached the Top 20 with my performance this week and I played very well here.”
