Murray bros get an early exit – 2012 Olympics

The courts of Wimbledon are not smiling at all at Andy. After his heartbreaking loss in this year’s final agains Federer, the Scott capitulated in the first round of doubles with his brother Jamie. To be frank Melzer and Peya is a very good team with Melzer a former Wimbledon doubles champion with Petzschner of Germany (2010), so… this shold be a huge surprise.

The match

The match started with an incredible support from the home crowd  that helped the Murrays to win the opener by 7-5. The second set was very tight with no breaks. The Scotts managed to recover a 2-5 deficit in the tiebreak to then capitulate 8-6. The real mess happened in the decider where the home favotites wasted twice a break up advantage to be immediately broken back and lose the third set 7-5 after two hours and 23 minutes.

Andy’s comment

“It was tough, we played well. We were a break up twice in the third set. We had enough chances to win the match, each time we got the break we got broken straight back so it was tough.”

The next match with Wawrinka

Time to regroup for Andy and focus on sigles where he has to confront a tough opponent in the 1st round “I will try and get prepared and try and do all of the recovery stuff. I will get an early night and get myself ready for tomorrow.”
