Djokovic reaches the finals at the Queen’s Club

Another day, another step in the right direction.

Novak Djokovic reaches the semifinal at the prestigious Queen’s Club after defeating Adrian Mannarino in straight sets.

The match

Nole had to fight hard in the first set after he conceded his serve in the 3rd game (1-2). The key of the match was probably when the former world no.1 recovered from a 2-4 deficit after achieving a crucial break in the 8th (and very long) game (4-4). That gave the confidence to Djokovic to keep on pushing and eventually he won the match 7-5 6-1 after conquering 11 of the following 13 games since he was 2-4 down.

Draw and Results

800 is a great achievement. DJOKOVIC

This was Djokovic’s 800 win. The Serbian commented

“It’s a milestone, and of course it’s a great achievement. Every achievement is a great achievement. I should be happy about it and proud of it.

When you work all your life for something, and then you get rewards for it, of course, it’s obviously very positive, and I’m thrilled.

I’m grateful, as well, as I’m able to play so many matches and to win so many matches in my career. It’s still the sport that I love with all my heart. I put in that heart every single day, and I’m very glad to be able to play semi-finals here after Rome and Roland Garros tournaments that went pretty well for me.”

Next vs. Chardy

Nole will face the world no. 61 Jeremy Chardy. The head to head is 10-0 for Djokovic (23-0 in terms of sets).
