Jelena Ostapenko plays one her best tennis in the Stuttgart opener to demolish the world no.52 Sarina Dyas 6-3 6-0.
Jelena was just fantastic for the entire contest with exception of the very first game when she lost her service. However, the Latvian was great to put her opponent’s serve always under pressure, and she wrapped up the match after winning 9 consecutive games (from 3-3 to 6-3 6-0).

Soon after the match, an elated Jelena Ostapenko commented
“First matches are always tough. I thought I played well for the first round and I’m feeling great to be back on clay. I’m really enjoying it, especially here, it’s very fast and fits my game well, so hopefully, I can do well.”
The quarters vs. Pliskova
Jelena will face Karolina Pliskova for a place in the semifinal. The head to head is 2-1 for the Czech, but Jelena has recently demolished Karolina in the Singapore Finals 6-3 6-1.
