Rafael Nadal plays one of his incredible matches in Monte Carlo to defeat Dominic Thiem 6-0 6-2.
The Spanish legend was completely superior, and the Austrian managed to gain his first game point only in the 10th game. The Dominic won his first game after 52 minutes before losing the contest in 68 minutes.
There is not much to comment about this match. Probably, once again, Thiem failed to bring Rafa on “uncharted” territory as he has never managed to make the King of Clay go out of his comfort zone. Thiem tried to go for broke in the second set, but that was a bit too late and not enough.
Next vs. Dimitrov
Rafa will face Grigor Dimitrov in the semifinal. The head to head is 10-1 for Rafa that is the favorite to reach the final and then win his 11th title in Monte Carlo.
