19-year-old Aryna Sabalenka is getting better and better.
The Belarusian has one of the most exciting tennis styles among the newcomers, and if she can find the right fine-tuning, she is destined to be a top10 player.
Ranked no.61, Aryna has now reached the second final of her career (after Tianjin 2017) in Lugano after defeating Camila Giorgi (6-3 6-0) and Stefanie Voegele (6-4 6-2) in the same day.
It was a difficult day. SABALENKA
After the match against Voegele, Aryna commented
“It was a tough today, because of two matches in one day – especially against players with two different kinds of play. Giorgi plays really fast, and the second match, she tried to spin, slice, hard and slow and whatever.
It was a tough day – a tough week because of the rain…I try to not care about the conditions and play as fast as I can before the rain! I just focus on every ball, every game, every shot – but it was really tough, and cold.”
The final against Mertens
Aryna will face Elise Mertens in the final. They have never played each other so far.
