World no.219 Fanny Stollar surprises Jo Konta in the Charleston 2nd round after conceding just 7 games to the Brit.
The Hungarian teenager has been struggling to capitalize on her great potential so far, but she has a particular love affair with Charleston where she reached the 3rd round in 2017 and this year she has created a massive upset after defeating Konta 6-3 6-4.
About her performance in Charleston
When asked why she is performing so well in Charleston, she commented
“I honestly can’t tell you what it is. I just feel pretty good here and relaxed and [I’m] just enjoying it here.
I’m trying to play my game, just my style in every tournament, and it works good here. But yeah, I hope I can bring it out in other tournaments, too.”
Next vs. Bertens
Fanny will face the world no.27 Kiki Bertens for the first time. Another upset on the way?
