The Japanese sensation looks completely recovered from the illness that dented her run in Miami and she is back in business in Charleston.
Seeded no.10, after a not=so=great start (0-2) Naomi had no problems in dismissing the world no.82 Jennifer Brady 6-4 6-4.
Osaka will now face the world no.74 Laura Siegemund in the 2nd round. Even if the German has a 2-0 win-loss record against Osaka, Naomi is the hot favorite to win this contest.
