Sascha Zverev is back to business!

The world no.5 had a not so good start of the season after he recorded a 6-4 win-loss record. In Florida, Sascha has finally found his rhythm in 2018, and he has now reached the final in Miami after defeating Pablo Carreno Busta in straight sets in the semifinal.

The match

The contest lasted only 1 set as the gritty Spaniard was opposing a fantastic resistance to Zverev’s weaponry. Pablo was remarkably steady on his serve especially in the last 3 games of the opening set when he conceded just 3 points in total. Eventually, it was Sascha to conquer the first set after playing a good tiebreak.

Things got utterly different in the second set because Carreno Busta’s tennis was starting to go south a bit and Zverev got full advantage of it. Eventually, the German won the contest 7-6 (4) 6-2 in 88 minutes.

The final

Sascha will face John Isner in the final. The head to head is 3-0 for the German that is probably the favorite to clinch his 3rd Master ATP1000 (after Rome and Montreal 2017).
