Overcoming setbacks before the Asian swing
Lorenzo Musetti is gearing up for the Shanghai Masters after an untimely physical issue briefly halted his momentum. The Italian had to withdraw from Tokyo last week because of a problem to his finger, but he has now resumed full preparations on court.
Speaking to Sky Insider, Musetti explained that dealing with the hand complication proved particularly frustrating during an already stop-start campaign. He maintained his conditioning by working on the rest of his body while allowing the hand to rest, and he expressed satisfaction after completing two consecutive days of training without finger pain.
Refocusing on momentum and future goals
Reflecting on the challenges of a fragmented year, Musetti noted that frequent physical interruptions repeatedly checked his progression and prevented him from sustaining his highest level. Each pause forced him to essentially start over, making injury prevention and physical consolidation his top priorities heading into the off-season.
Musetti stated that he wants to “reclaim what is mine” as he looks ahead, remaining eager and determined to finish the schedule without further delays. He highlighted that he aims to build toward next season with fewer points to defend later on, setting his sights firmly on climbing back to the standing he occupied earlier in the year.
