Borna Coric and Denis Shapovalov play a fantastic 4th round in Miami with the Croatian winning the contest 7-6 (2) 4-6 6-4.
After splitting the first 2 sets, the match went to an extremely exciting decider full of impressive rallies and great shot making from both sides. The Croatian broke Shapovalov in the 6th game (4-2), but Dennis got the break back soon after (4-3). Eventually, Borna managed to win the battle after breaking Shapovalov again in the last game following an incredible exchange at the net.
Now ranked no.36, Coric will now face either Nick Kyrgios or Sascha Zverev for a place in the semifinal. Whatever the outcome, Coric will definitely reach a career high in the rankings to improve his previous no.33.
