Ostapenko beats Kvitova to reach the quarters in Miami

Fantastic news for Jelena Ostapenko’ s fans as Jelena seems to have found her way in Miami.

The world no. 5 had a horrid 4-7 win-loss record before Miami in 2018 after she crashed on 4 occasions in an opening match. The Latvian is now finding her way in Florida where she reached the quarters following an important win at the expenses of Petra Kvitova.

The match

Everything looked smooth for Jelena in the opening set after she grabbed a convincing 4-1 lead. Then  Petra broke back in the 7th game (4-3), and the affair went to the breaker. The key moment was when Ostapenko won 5 consecutive points in the tiebreak to reverse a 2-4 deficit and win the opening set.

In the second set, the pair went head to head until Kvitova was leading 3-2. That was the beginning of the end as the Latvian conquered the following 4 games to win the contest 7-6 (4) 6-3.
