No problems for Nick Kyrgios in Miami where he reaches the 4th round after dismissing Fabio Fognini in straight sets.
The match
It was clear from the very beginning that Nick was in the right mood after he grabbed an early break in the 2nd game (2-0) to then consolidate his lead after holding his serve (3-0). The Australian was pretty steady in his service games soon after to win the opener 6-3.
The second set was also not so tough for Nick that was never broken while Fognini dropped his serve on 2 occasions in the 3rd (1-2) and the last game. The final score was a smooth 6-3 6-3, and the contest ended after 66 minutes.
We both competed. KYRGIOS
Soon after the match, Nick commented
“We both competed. I just played a little better in some bigger points.
I knew it was going to be tough. He has a lot of tricks up his sleeve and he’s very unpredictable. I knew I just had to serve well, play aggressive and keep the points short. When he gets in a rhythm, he’s pretty dangerous.”
Nick will face either Sascha Zverev or David Ferrer in the 4h round.
