Denis Shapovalov gets to the Miami 3rd round after defeating Damir Dzumhur in straight sets.
The Canadian had an easy run in the opening set after winning 6-1, but things got a bit more complicated in the second as his opponent was refusing to fold. In fact, Damir recovered from a 1-break down deficit on 2 occasions, and Denis had to break him for a third time in the 11th game of the second set before winning 6-1 7-5. Shapovalov won 72 points vs. Damir’s 47.
Denis will face Sam Querrey in the 3rd round. They have never played each other so far.
