Naomi Osaka has been a brutal force in the past few weeks after she defeated top players of Maria Sharapova, Agnieszka Radwanska, Karolina Pliskova, Simona Halep, and Serena Williams without conceding them a single set.
After winning Indian Wells, Naomi had a massive start in Miami following her 1st round win against Serena Williams, but for once she was unable to back up her last win, and she fell to Elina Svitolina 6-4 6-2 after just 82 minutes.
This match ended a fantastic 8 matches winning streak from Osaka.
Nausea
Apparently, the Japanese was struggling in the morning with strong nausea to comment
“I don’t think it would be right to just not play, especially after if I play someone like Serena, then you just don’t play the next match. I think that’s wrong, so… I tried to play.”
With this win, Svitolina will move to the 3rd round to face Daria Gavrilova.
