Today is yet another day for Federer’s fans to celebrate another important achievement: being the world no.1 for a record 287 weeks.
The feat came after his wonderful win of his 7th Wimbledon 1 week ago (see article) and.. ops also his 17th Grand Slam (forgot about that!!!)
There are many great players talking about Federer’s achievements, but it seems that the best one came from Sampras
“It’s easier to have my records broken by a guy who I admire, and who I consider to be a friend,” said Pete “I’m used to Roger breaking my records, that’s the way it’s been for a number of years. There’s nothing I can do about it. I just sit here being impressed at what Roger’s been able to do,” he added.
Rod Laver, Edberg, Safin, Becker, Rosewall, Agassi had wonderful quotes for him in the video.
For the occasion, Nike even produced a new pair of Vapor 9 shoes that Federer’s fans would be mad of.
The terrible news for his opponents? It seems this is not the final achievements, the Swiss Genius is still at work.
