I mean, I haven’t won a match in two years here, so that’s I’m happy I’m happy that I did it today,” the German explained during his on-court interview.

They pushed us all the way again and they were champions last year,” he said, before highlighting the camaraderie within the European camp: “This year I think we had a great team. “Yeah, for sure. We have three chances to to close it out in the singles and especially with Carlos playing after me,” Zverev remarked. “I think that gives me a lot of confidence, gives me a little bit of freedom to play and but still was an incredibly tough match. Credit to Learner as well.”

Being among these great players, you know, who I normally see across the net every single week and playing alongside of them, playing alongside two great captains with with Yanik and and Tim.”
