LAVER CUP. Team Europe leads after an exciting day. HIGHLIGHTS

Team Europe is still leading in the Laver Cup, but day3 will be decisive.

Laver cup

Another day another fantastic session for the Laver Cup.

Things are getting more and more serious in the competition as the days progresses. In fact, while the wins in day1 bring just one point each, day2 brings 2 points per match and day3 will give 3 points per victory.

Team Europe ended day 1 with a 3-1 lead. That is still important because it means that if the 2 teams tie in each of the following 2 days, Team Europe will conquer the competition even if by a tiny margin.

What happened on day 2

Team World put up another great fight against the favorites. John Isner defeated Sascha Zverev 6-7 (2) 6-4 6-1 to make things even (3-3).

Then it was the “classic” moment of Federer taking on Kyrgios and once again it was the Maestro to win the encounter 6-7 (5) 7-5 10-7. Roger wasted a break-up lead in the opening set, but then he was too sharp in the second part of the match. This gave 5-3 lead to Team Europe.

In the following match, Nadal didn’t disappoint to defeat Milos Raonic in straight sets to win 6-3 7-6 (1) and increase the lead to Team Europe (7-3).

Team World managed to bounce back also in the doubles when Nick Kyrgios and Jack Sock defeated Nadal and Tsitsipas 6-4 3-6 10-6.

After day2, Team Europe leads 7-5 and they need to win 2 matches to conquer the 3rd consecutive Laver Cup.
