Kei Nishikori keeps on struggling with his body.
Now ranked 25, the Japanese has been through many injuries in his career, and he got a prolonged break last year to deal with his wrist.
Kei had to play the opener in Indian Wells against Leonardo Mayer, but he couldn’t make it.
Kei commented “I have been sick for over a week and tried everything I could to get better. I’m still not strong enough to go play a match,” Nishikori said. “I’m very sorry as I love this tournament.”
