Nick Kyrgios looked on his way to (sort of) greatness in 2018 after he won the first 7 matches, triumph in Brisbane, and lose only in the 4th round at the Australian Open. Then the Australian got injured to his elbow during the following Davis Cup tie against Germany to withdraw from all the subsequent tournaments in Rotterdam, Delray Beach, Acapulco. Nick also had to skip Indian Wells, and there are doubts about his presence in Miami.
The statement
Nick released the following statement
“Absolutely gutted to withdraw today as Indian Wells is one of my favorite tournaments but my elbow is just not ready. I gave it as long as possible, but I’m not at the level to compete yet. “
Next step?
