Serena Williams is back!
The former world no.1 will finally compete in a tournament after 14 months. The American was aiming at coming back in Melbourne to defend her title early in the year, but she couldn’t make it after dealing with a delicate situation after giving birth to her baby.
Serena will start her comeback in Indian Wells where she will face the world no. 53 Zarina Dyas in the opener. Then Williams may face Kiki Bertens in the 2nd round before possibly playing her sister Venus in the 3rd.
Here the plausible quarters
Halep – Ostapenko/Konta
Muguruza – Pliskova / Kvitova
Serena/Venus Williams – Svitolina
Garcia/Kerber – Wozniacki
The defending champion is Elina Svitolina.
