The Laver Cup is coming to its second day after an exciting start on Friday. As anticipated, Team Europe is leading Team World 3-1. However, that wasn’t so smooth as Team World was extremely close to having an even scoreline. In fact, Denis Shapovalov couldn’t convert 3 match points in his opening match against Dominic Thiem. Later on, Stefanos Tsitsipas won a tight clash against Taylor Fritz 10-7 in the decider.

Saturday’s schedules

The big guns will start to show up on Saturday.

At 1 pm, John Isner will take on Sascha Zverev in the opening match. The head to head is 5-1 for Zverev.

Later Kyrgios will face Roger Federer for the 3rd consecutive year at the Laver Cup. The head to head is 3-1 for Federer (5-1 with the Laver Cup matches included)

At 7 pm, Rafael Nadal is expected to play Milos Raonic. The head to head is 7-2 for Nadal. However, it’s not sure that the Spaniard will play as he is battling with a wrist injury.

Later Rafael Nadal and Stefanos Tsitsipas will take on Nick Kyrgios and Jack Sock in doubles.

Nadal’s injury

The big question mark is if Nadal will play at all as he is struggling with his left wrist. It is also “weird” that he was scheduled to play back to back singles and doubles if he is not in good conditions. Since Team Europe brought in a rather strong alternate (Roberto Bautista Agut) it is plausible that he will kick in against Milos Raonic.
