Nadal rumored to skip Indian Wells and Miami

Tough moments for Rafael Nadal.

The Spanish sensation had to withdraw from the ATP500 in Acapulco after he had to surrender to an injury that is very similar to the one he sustained in Melbourne when he had to withdraw in the quarters.

A tough one

A visibly distraught Rafa commented

“Tough one, of course. Yesterday in the last practice I felt something.

I went to the hospital this morning to check it, to do an MRI and I still have some liquid there, so I need to keep doing tests to know what exactly is going on.

The spot is really similar to Australia, so I need to be sure about what’s going on the next couple of days, and then we’re going to work hard to try to recover as soon as possible.”

Skipping Indian Wells and Miami

According to rumors,  Nadal is considering not to play the next 2 tournaments in Indian Wells and Miami to focus on the clay court season where he is always expected to dominate, and that is not causing too much struggle to his body.

That could be a wise decision.
