Daria Gavrilova is the media darling back in Australia, but this action will definitely change this perception.
What happened
Daria was facing the world no. 76 Madison Brengle in the Acapulco opener. The Australian was a set down, and she lost her service game after committing a double fault when she was leading 3-1. Gavrilova stunned after soon after as she threw her racket in full rage at the net barely missing 2 ball boys.
Eventually, Gavrilova won that match 4-6 6-3 6-3, but she should have been defaulted even if she didn’t hit the ballboys.
That’s terrible.
Daria Gavrilova is lucky the racquet missed the ball boy and she was not disqualified.#Acapulco #AMT2018 pic.twitter.com/dZGecYNY3K
