Nadal withdraws from Acapulco

Another tournament another retirement for Rafael Nadal.

The Spanish sensation has been struggling for long with his overall physical condition for the last few months, and he seems unable to complete a tournament.

The 7th consecutive tournament he retired

The last time that Rafa was able to complete an event was last year in October in Shanghai where he lost in the final to Roger Federer. Then Nadal withdrew from Basel, Bercy, the ATP Finals, the Mubadala World Tennis Championships, and Brisbane. Eventually, the King of Clay retired also while playing the quarters in Melbourne and now he is not able to compete in Acapulco.

The statement

Rafa released the following statement

“I had done all the right steps to get well prepared for the tournament, which was my goal and my dream,”

Unfortunately, yesterday’s final training session before debuting again noticed a puncture in the same area where I had the problem in Australia.

Doctors have told me that it is impossible to play, regardless of whether it hurts… There is a significant risk of increasing the injury, and I have no choice.

I was well prepared to play, and I had hopes of doing something important here.”

We wish a complete recovery to the King of Clay.
