Tiafoe beats Chung and Shapovalov in the same day to reach the Delray Beach final

That was a day to remember in Delray Beach for Frances Tiafoe.

The entertaining American had to serve-out the quart final match against Hyeon Chung that was leading 5-7 6-4 5-3 before it was suspended the day before because of the rain. Eventually, Frances managed to conquer the contest after he held his serve following a rather long game. The final result was 5-7 6-4 6-4.

After few hours in the semifinal, Tiafoe had to face a tough Denis Shapovalov that was playing great tennis for the entire week. The first set was extremely fast with both players winning their serving games very quickly. The crucial moment of the contest was when Shapovalov blinked to lose 6 consecutive games (from 5-4 to 5-7  / 0-3). The Canadian managed to break back in the 4th game of the second set (1-3), but it was too late, and eventually Tiafoe won 7-5 6-4.

The final vs. Gojowczyk

Tiafoe will face the world no.64 Peter Gojowczyk to win his maiden title. The head to head is 1-0 for the German, but the sensation is that Frances is going to win this one.
