Dimitrov to back to no.4

ROTTERDAM. Grigor Dimitrov is rising again!

The Bulgarian sensation has started the season as the deserving world no.3 after he won the ATP Finals. Even if Grigor had a decent start of 2018, he didn’t match the performance of last year after he reached the semifinal in Brisbane where he was the defending champion, and he lost in the quarters at the Australian Open (in 2017 he got to the semi). In addition, Grigor decided not to compete in the home tournament in Sofia where he was the defending champion.

This means that Dimitrov’s ranking went down (no.5), but he is now crawling back after he reached the semifinal in Rotterdam. In fact, Grigor was just 25 shy from the world no.4 Sascha Zverev that lost in the 2nd round in Rotterdam improving his 2017 record when he crashed out in the opener to add 45 points to his rankings (therefore he will have 4495pts). After reaching the final 4 in the Netherlands, Grigor will add at least 90pts to his rankings to have at least 4515pts by the end of the week.

Next vs. Goffin

Grigor will now face David Goffin for a place in the final. The head to head is 5-1 for Grigor that has lost to David only in this very event last year in the quarters. The Bulgarian will try to avenge that.
