Federer has very simple draw after Wawrinka loses to world no. 259

It seems that is destiny that Roger Federer will get back his world no.1 after this week in Rotterdam. The Swiss legend has to reach the semifinals in the Netherland, and after the fall of some top players, this target seems to be easily reachable.

In fact, Stan Wawrinka was meant to clash against Roger in the quarters, but the Swiss crashed out at the hands of the world no.259 Tallon Griekspoor 4-6 6-3 6-2 in the first round.

With Stan out, Roger needs to beat Ruben Bemelmans (ranked no. 116) in the first round. Then Roger will play Philipp Kohlschreiber (no.36). In the quarters, Federer will face one of these players: Robin Haase (no.42), Thiemo de Bakker (no. 352) or Tallon Griekspoor (no.259).

If Roger gets through this pack, he will become the oldest world no.1 in tennis history. Life looks great for Roger right now. History is waiting once more.

See the draw.
