Matteo Berrettini is enjoying a remarkable season.

Currently ranked no.13 (career-high) the Italian has won 3 titles in 2019 in Phoenix (Challenger), Budapest and Stuttgart. In addition, Matteo impressed with his run at the recent US Open where he reached the semifinal before surrendering to Rafael Nadal.

The 23-year-old is currently in St. Petersburg where he is playing the local ATP250. Matteo is now in the quarters in Russia and this means that he has gained 25 points in the live rankings to overtake Kei Nishikori in the YTD rankings from next Monday.

If Berrettini wins the title in St. Petersburg, he will have 2390 YTD points. Therefore, the Italian will also have more points than Roberto Bautista Agut in the YTD rankings.
