Federer excited about playing for no.1

After winning the Australian Open in January, Roger Federer managed to significantly shrink his deficit in the rankings versus the world no.1 Rafael Nadal. Currently, Roger is just 155 points shy from Rafa, and for this reason, he has decided to compete in Rotterdam where he needs to win 3 matches to regain the world no.1 rank.

According to the tournament organizer Richard Krajicek, Roger expressed his idea of playing in the Netherlands just a few hours after winning the title in Melbourne.

About Roger excitement

During an interview, today confirmed Richard’s comments to add “After the Australian Open I was thinking about the rankings. Our team is very excited, that I’m here. I give it a go. You have to be here with all the heart and go for it.”

Roger will kick-start his campaign against the world no1 Ruben Bemelmans in the first round. They have never played each other so far.
