Dubai tournament director optimistic on Federer participation

Roger Federer is just 155pts from regaining a historical world no.1 rank. The Swiss sensation can be back to the top of the rankings if he changes his mind and he will play (and win) in Dubai. Federer has already conquered the prestigious ATP500 7 times, and it is rather plausible that he will have another deep run in the Emirates.

Roger is now recovering from another triumphant run in Melbourne where he has managed to defend his 2017 title. The world no.2 has originally planned to play in Indian Wells after the Australian Open, but his fortnight in Australia hasn’t been incredibly tough on his body after he has won all his matches in straight sets except for the final.

The organization is optimistic

According to the Express, But Talhak, the tournament director, is optimistic about Roger’s participation to comment

“We are delighted to see Roger Federer win a historic 20th Grand Slam in Australia and congratulate him on his efforts. Roger has indicated that he will make a decision in the near future about his upcoming schedule.

We wish him all the best.”

Apparently, the decision will be made next week.
