Simona Halep on her way to recovery

Simona Halep had an extremely tough and successful start of the year after she won the title in Shenzhen and she reached the final at the Australian Open following 3 amazing battles on the way.

The world no.2 withdrew from the tournament in St. Petersburg this week as she had to recover from her foot injury.

The good news is that according to Simona, she is recovering and she might even play the Fed Cup against Canada the 10th of February.

During a recent interview at an event launched by Ion Tiriac, Simona commented

“Physically, I am ok. My right foot is the problem, but it is not that swollen anymore. I try to do the treatment every day & I try to come back on the court asap, but it won’t be easy. I’ll leave on Tuesday for FedCup; I will see there if I am able to play.”

Simona is currently ranked no.2 as she lost the top spot in the rankings to Caroline Wozniacki, but the Romanian is only 250pts away from the top spot in the rankings.
