NO RETIREMENT. Federer confirms he will play the Australian Open in 2019

Roger Federer was understandably full of emotions during the Australian Open ceremony after he won his (incredible) 20th slam. The Swiss legend appeared completely overwhelmed with his emotions to forget to say the typical “see you next year.”

Of course, that made many thinking that Roger already planned his retirement, but that is not the case, and Roger confirms that he will try to defend his title in Melbourne also next year with a clear post on Twitter saying

“Thank you, Australia for the support, the passion, and all the epic memories. Can’t wait until next year. #RF20 #ausopen #Norman #readyforsomerest

Trying to decode Roger, it seems as he confirmed his participation in 2019 and that #readyforsomerest might mean that he won’t compete in Dubai at the end of February to regain on court the world no.1 rank.
