Federer open to compete in Dubai for world no.1

Roger Federer is experiencing another crazy period in his fantastic career.

The Swiss Legend has just won the Australian Open to be only 155pts away from regaining the top of the rankings and being the oldest world no.1 in tennis history.

Roger can achieve that in many ways because Nadal has an enormous amount of points to defend from now until the grass-court swing. The odd thing is that Roger is extremely likely to become world no.1 “from the couch” during the clay court seasons and that is probably something that he doesn’t want.

There are possibilities that Roger will get the top of the rankings on-court if he decides to compete in Dubai by the end of February. This is a tournament that he has won already 7 times.

It’s possible I’ll play in Dubai. FEDERER

Soon after winning the title in Melbourne, Roger commented

“I also have to decide about the clay-court season, so all these things are inter-linked. It’s possible I’ll play in Dubai, but it’s also possible that maybe I just don’t play anything. It depends on how the next week or so goes. Then I’ll make a decision.”

Roger is not in the Dubai entry list, but he won’t struggle to get a wildcard.

Time will tell.
