I want to be world no.1. CILIC

Marin Cilic has just lost a tough final at the Australian Open against a fabulous Roger Federer, but the Croatian has not lost his optimism.

After this great fortnight in Melbourne, Marin will be ranked no.3, and he is aiming at the very top of the rankings. This is definitely achievable if you think that the world no.1 and no.2 (Nadal and Federer) are in the last stage of heir career and Cilic has reached 2 prestigious slam finals recently in Wimbledon (2017) and now in Melbourne.

My ultimate goal is to be world no.1. CILIC

During the post-match press conference, Marin commented

“My ultimate goal is to reach No. 1. That’s my goal. That’s what I’m working for. Even in these last one or two years, the progress that I did is big. Last year I improved a lot in different areas. Now in these last couple months, I improved even more. So that gives me big confidence. Beating here Rafa, obviously, he retired, but it was a great match as well. Then playing with Roger head-to-head, a great match. This is giving me big confidence in going forward.”
