Halep impresses for her great attitude in defeat

Simona Halep and Caroline Wozniacki have a rather tricky relationship with the Slams. Both occupied the 1st place in the rankings without being able to win a major until yesterday when the Dane defeated Simona after a fantastic final. That means that while Caroline has finally managed to win her first slam, Simona is still “majorless” after losing twice in the Roland Garros finals and now that she capitulated in the last act of the Australian Open.

Still, Halep had a fantastic tournament to reach the final after winning 2 incredible battles on the way against Lauren Davis (4-6 6-4 15-13) and Angelique Kerber (6-3 4-6 9-7).

I cried, but I am fine. HALEP

During the post-match press conference, Simona commented

“I can still smile. It’s fine. I cried, but now I’m smiling.

It’s just a tennis match in the end. But I’m really sad I couldn’t win it. I was close again, but the gas ran out at the end. She was better. She was fresher. She had more energy actually in the end.

I did 100 percent what I could today. I’m not sad for that. I’m sad that I lost the match and was not the winner, but life goes on. For sure in the future, if I keep working like this and I keep playing like this, I will be in a good position again.

Yes, but I want to win. I’m still losing, and I’m still waiting. Maybe the fourth one will be with luck.”

What an attitude!
