Sloane Stephens is having an interesting moment in her life.
Now ranked No. 13, she has been sidelined for long because of various injuries. Eventually, she had a great spell during the American summer after she reached the semifinals in Toronto and Cincinnati before surprising the tennis world (and herself) after winning the US Open!
After this feast, Sloane lost all her 6 matches winning just 1 set on the way.
Still, the American has a fantastic approach to life, and she was recently interviewed by the Harper’s Bazaar. Sloane talked about everything, and she also stressed how tough it was for her dealing with her injury.
“Injury was pretty challenging. It was hard to sit on my couch for 11 months watching tennis, instead of playing. But a really great positive came out of it. When I was finally allowed to start hitting again, it was like I fell back in love with the sport. It’s important to stay focused on your recovery and remain in the present moment.”
