Chung upsets Zverev

When Hyeon Chung won the inaugural edition of the Nextgen final it was clear that that was not a fluke. In fact, the South Korean has just backed that success after reaching the 4th round at the Australian Open following a great win over the world no.4 Sascha Zverev.

The match

After splitting the first 2 sets with the German, Hyeon capitulate in the 3rd with a tough 6-2. At that point, the South Korean really stepped up big time to drop just 3 games in the following 2 sets and win the match 5-7 7-6 (3) 2-6 6-3 6-0.

The Key was playing at my 100%. CHUNG

“Today was a really tough match again against Alex Zverev.

He’s a really good player and we know how to play each other. I tried to play 100 percent on court and that was the key for today.

I’m really thankful for my team. They’re always with me, good times or bad times, so I’m just thankful to you guys.”

Chung will play either Albert Ramos-Vinolas or, most probably, Novak Djokovic in the 4th round.
